Capital District Chapter

The Capital District Chapter of The College of Saint 玫瑰 校友会 actually began as the Greater Capital Area Chapter and covered the areas of 奥尔巴尼 and Troy. The first slate of officers included: Maureen Elliot ’80, 总统; Mary Fran Verostek ’82, Vice-总统; Betsy Van Deusen ’84, 秘书; John Marsolais ’82, 财务主管; Mary Bee Longabaugh ’85, Recorder; Barbara Mohan ’54, 导演; 玫瑰 Mary Murray ’45, 导演; Cynthia Grande ’83, 导演 and Jane O’Brien ’46, 导演. This group worked diligently to provide entertaining social activities for their alumni members and continued to promote the mission of St. 玫瑰.

1996年5月, the name of the Chapter was updated to its current title: The Capital District Chapter of the Saint 玫瑰 校友会 to better reflect the area served. The group continues to follow the framework established by the founding partners. The Chapter’s main focus is to sponsor social events for the enjoyment of the alumni membership. 活动 have included luncheons, theater performances, 饮料之旅, 体育赛事, SPAC productions and special day trips.The Chapter also supports the College by offering a semiannual undergraduate student scholarship, volunteering to assist at College events along with promoting campus activities. 作为一个章节, we also find time to volunteer and support other charitable organizations in the Capital Region.
